  Dear friends,

                   Cordial greetings!

“In every young person, a point of goodness is accessible and it is the primary duty of the educator to discover that sensitive chord of the heart so as to draw out the best in the young person”  - Don Bosco.

With this core idea in mind, the vibrant and dynamic Don Bosco College of Arts and Science is happily standing on its eleven year old feet.

The College with a strength of 2066 students, 97 teaching staff and 35 support staff issoaring  to reach greater heights in the field of education.

I am glad and proud to statethatwe have qualified, efficient teaching staff whoare growing annually in number, as well as, with enormous input sessions on counsellingand guidanceto promote personal formation.  They publish papers in national and international journals and also add more qualification to their personal credit which also brings laurels to the College.

Keeping in mind the holistic development of the students, the College offers various opportunities for the students to develop to meet the multifarious demands of society.  The College provides them with various management scholarships and also helps them to get different government scholarships so as to ensure that no student drops out from the College for lack of financial aid.  It is also note worthy to mention that our College offers noon meals scheme for poor students to make their collegiate education a pleasant experience.

Our College provides an excellent platform for the students to grow in patriotism, intrapersonal, interpersonal and group dynamics through various fests celebrated in the College like sports day, cultural fest and all national events. To mould them for the job market, our students are encouraged to take part in industrial and library visits, national and international seminars and present papers, curricular and co-curricular activities at department and inter department level. Clubs and Association programmes help to complement their subject knowledge. Students are also encouraged to participate in the sports events organised at the University level and we are proud to say that a  few of our students have been  chosen to represent  the Periyar University at national level.

It is high time that we acknowledged that today’s youth are undergoing a lot of stress and strain in their personal life and to tackle their psychological ailments a full time counsellor has been appointed by the College.  The value education classes which are held twice a week nurture in the students moral values which they need to practice in their everyday life.

As a part of our service to society, our College has adopted two villages and is continuously extending helping hands for the various needs of the villages.  Our students also run evening tuition centres to share the knowledge they gained in the College.

Regards,
