Department of Physics

History

The Department of Physics was started in the academic year 2008-2009 with B.Sc. Course to render services to the student community of the rural area to meet the emerging global challenges in the area of Physics. The course for M.Sc. was introduced in the year 2012.

The Department is facilitated with a well-equipped laboratory for under graduation as well as post graduation courses. The PG students are encouraged for higher level projects to develop their research attitude.

The students of Physics conveniently use the department library shelved with very recent books in many fields of Physics and its recent applications. The department has been using new strategies for advanced learning such as instructional strategy, additional assignment of responsibility, providing access to professional learning careers. The Programme is updated according to the changing environment in industry, business world, and physics through board of studies with eminent members.

Vision

Quality teaching and centre of excellence in physics.

Mission

The Department aspires to provide the best scientific methods in teaching the basic principles of physics, both theoretical and experimental, and puts most of time to keep the level of education, scientific research and community service.

Objectives

  • Configure basics of physics curriculum and smooth study plan.
  • Provide a sophisticated level of education for teaching of undergraduate and graduate studies.
  • Prepare the student in assets of physics and the principles of analytical methods required for the conclusion of physical tests.
  • Provide an opportunity for students to deepen his knowledge in the branches of physics so that views on the outskirts of contemporary science.
  • Training the students on the way of scientific research and enable it to contribute to it under the supervision.
  • Rehabilitation of the student in-depth knowledge of the extent of scientific maturity can participate effectively in the scientific and technical aspects of the development and planning programmes.
  • Work in the completion of applied research, basic scientific research, experimental, theoretical and applied.
  • Continued development of faculty members by sending them for training courses so as to maintain a high degree of efficiency and performance.
  • Support and encourage the scientific cooperation between faculty members in the department and cooperation with other departments in the field of multi-purpose research.
